“My very own neighborhood” is a project of mine that combines editorial illustration and layout design.
The brief for this project was to design a map of a neighbourhood and to create four spot illustrations to accompany the map. My “kiez” is Winsviertel in Prenzlauer Berg and I also spend a lot of time in the neighbouring Kollwitzkiez. The map I designed highlights my favourite shops, restaurants, and places in these two neighbourhoods.
The spot illustrations feature some typical Prenzlauer Berg scenarios: babies in strollers, toddlers on their bikes, and teenagers hanging out. One of the four spots is dedicated to the best donut shop in the city.
